There are 39 Marie Curie Nurses working in our local fundraising area, which covers The Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway.
Last year, these nurses provided hands on nursing care to 380 local patients and their families. It costs the charity £20 per hour to provide this service, so you can see why we cannot relax with our fundraising and why we appreciate your help and support so much. For every walker who raises £20 in sponsorship, we can ensure that another hour of care is provided locally. £180 will provide one full 9 hour shift for a Marie Curie Nurse. Marie Curie Nurses provide care to patients with cancer and all terminal illnesses and as a charity Marie Curie Cancer Care would like to give more people the choice to spend their final days in their own homes. Please help us to ensure that we raise the money to continue to provide this invaluable service in our local communities.
